The goal of the role of Global Product Merchandiser is to optimize the assortment and inventory of all Van de Velde D2C doors in both O&O retail as well as in Department Stores. We strive to deliver optimal turnover, sell through and margin to the business and for our business partners.
Main focus countries for this role are Germany, Denmark, The Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain, UK and USA. You will report to the Head of Retail.

Result Area 1 : Budgets
Prepare initial seasonal budget and volume in cooperation with the buyer or global account manager, based on business/account plan focussed on turnover, sell through, margin, and brand presentation. Keep track of budget and performance in season. Manage seasonal OTB budgets. Prepare assortment & space planning proposal and align with VM/GAM. Result Area 2 : Reporting and analysing
Analyse, and report on, performance regularly and suggest actions to improve KPI’s. * Do ad hoc analysis where needed. Work closely with our Global Head of Retail and Global Account Team and be a business sparring partner. Cross functional internal reporting (Design, Marketing, Demand Planning). Result Area 3 : In Season Replenishment
Manage weekly/daily replenishment on non-seasonal (NOOS) and seasonal assortment. Keep track and follow up on outstanding orders and auto – replenishment orders. Twice a year perform a complete review (analysis) of the NOOS assortment with buyer/ GAM Result Area 4 : Stock management: Constant managing levels and distribution of stock
Reallocation/consolidation and transfers of stock between stores/global accounts. Analyse end of season/ obsolete stock, advise on promotions and liquidations. Support inventory stock count Result Area 5 : KPI’s: constant managing of all defined KPI’s
Report and safeguard turnover, sellthrough, and margin (value and %) in view of overall P&L requirements Determine Sale Strategy and Timeline (“critical path”) with respect of turnover, inventory and margin requirements Prepare mark down proposals Daily analysis of mark down performance during the mark down periods Follow up on systems like: BI, EDI flow, price lists import. Result Area 6 : Self-development
Continuously expand knowledge of the industry: competitors' analysis, trend analysis, etc.
This is a role in which you will work inter-departmental and cross-regional with our international Buyer/Global Account Team and Field (operational) support to realize team deliverables against the agreed deadlines. You will also collaborate closely with stores, vendors, BPO and business analyst.

We are looking for you if you recognize yourself in the following profile :
Minimum BA degree 3 to 5 years (minimum) of proven relevant experience Excellent analytical skills and a high level of commercial and business awareness Deep level of Excel knowledge and familiarity with BI systems Strong communicator, both verbally and in writing Professional English is a pre–requisite. Dutch and German are a plus. Team player able to advice, coach, influence and convince others Mindset for problem solving and working toward continuous improvement Efficient and detail oriented Ability to handle multiple diverse projects in a timely manner
