As the Head of Digital Technology, you will be responsible for shaping the technical roadmap for Digital within Telenet. This roadmap will deliver the capabilities that Telenet needs to stay ahead in the digital age and it should enable the Digital teams to effectively deliver customer value in an agile fashion, maintaining a high level of quality for each delivery. You and your team of tech leads will be the trusted advisor of the agile teams, supporting initiatives from a technical perspective, ensuring the technology stack evolves in a sustainable way.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Roadmap Development: Develop and maintain the technical roadmap for the Digital department, which aligns with Telenet's business objectives. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure the roadmap is well-known, understood, and supported across the organization.

Strategic Alignment: Adopt a top-down view to ensure the technical roadmap is strategically aligned with the company's vision and goals. Additionally, adopt a bottom-up perspective to ensure the technical roadmap addresses the needs and requirements of the agile teams, enabling them to deliver customer value effectively.

Empower Digital Teams: Enable digital teams to work autonomously by providing them with the freedom to make decisions while ensuring a consistent way of working to deliver a coherent technology stack. Leverage your expertise to facilitate the delivery of scalable and high-quality solutions.

Team Leadership: Lead a team of tech leads, fostering a collaborative and innovative culture. Ensure the team is equipped with the necessary skills and resources to successfully execute the technical roadmap. Besides the technical skills that are needed in the team, communication and stakeholder management is a key component in the team to ensure the technical improvements and changes to the way of working land well within the Digital developer community, which is divided across different areas.

Collaboration with Architecture: Work closely with the architecture team to create the bridge between application architecture and technology choices. Facilitate meaningful discussions to ensure technical decisions are in line with architectural principles.

Modernization of Digital Technology Stack: Drive the modernization of Telenet's Digital technology stack, covering various aspects such as front-end (Angular, CSS), back-end (Java), infrastructure (private & public cloud), CI/CD (GitLab, Flux, Terraform, etc.), Personalization (Adobe, Pega), and communications (Selligent).

Innovation within Digital: Ensure Telenet applies new and innovative digital development practices, to bring Digital Delight to our customers. Together with the agile teams and business stakeholders, you will shape the initiatives that will implement these changes and deliver the value that is set out.

Requirements:

Strong technical background in Digital technology and architecture. It is your role to define the technical way forward so it is vital that you can understand, challenge and steer the tech leads within your team and architects and other stakeholders outside of your team.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders. To define and deliver a technical vision for Digital it's vital to have in depth technical discussions, but it is equally important to have a meaningful dialog with non-technical stakeholders and management to ensure the vision is understood and supported.

Strong leadership skills, with the ability to empower teams and foster a collaborative working environment, both within the team and building a connection with the agile teams.

Deep understanding of modern digital technologies, frameworks, and best practices including front-end and back-end technologies, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD tools, and marketing automation systems.

Strong understanding of the full SDLC in a scale agile environment, including shaping of requirements and co-creation with business, development and test automation, release management and deployment, operations and a shift left in the form of DevOps. It will be part of your responsibility to improve the SDLC within Digital, working closely with other departments like Security and Release Management.
